Green Green Green… Green Giant!

A retrospective application for 800m2 of polytunnels with associated irrigation tanks went through today without a hitch…

Well, I say without a hitch… There was that email from the Planning Officer asking us to prove that they were to be used in association with an agricultural business and not for personal consumption…

Not quite sure who they thought the applicant was..?

Despite the NPPF’s wholesale support for rural development, the LPA’s still don’t get it and still tend to treat, in my opinion, embryonic rural development with suspicion.

A colleague and I are currently working on a really interesting bio-intensive farming enterprise in the south-east which, if the Local Authority supports it, has the potential to yield a gross income of up to £80,000 per annum off less than a hectare… I’ll let you know how it goes.

Multum in parvo and all that…
