Group Listed Building Consent

Recently we submitted a tricky little group application for Listed Building Consent covering works to 7 properties.

Each property was listed and therefore careful consideration had to be paid to their individual heritage merits, while concurrently securing an expedient result for the client.

Working with the Landlord’s Agent, our draughtsman, the Local Authority’s Conservation Officer and a local manufacturer of bespoke windows and doors we were able to demonstrate to the Local Authority areas of dilapidation which required immediate reinstatement, that the proposed works would yield no detriment to historic fabric or character, and that as a result of the ‘Climate Emergency’ declared by the Local Authority, the replacement of historic single glazing with modern slimline double glazed units was policy concordant.

Permission was grated with the Conservation Officer commenting that “I was really pleased with the submission… The level of detail was excellent. So there was no hesitancy in drafting an approval.”

In this instance we also justified the submission of a single group application as opposed to multiple applications, saving the client significant expense.
